What is a Portable Downdraft Table?
A portable downdraft table is a moveable source-capture workbench that utilizes negative air pressure to pull fumes, dust, and vapors down through the work surface, and provides the operator a clean breathing zone. “Portable” downdraft tables offer the same reliable structure and powerful fan as the industrial solution, but offer a “stand” or “sit” feature along with its mobility.

Applications that produce fumes, vapors and dust, and have the ability to contaminate the operator's breathing zone are typically recommended to use a downdraft table to pull the respirable particulate from the breathable air.
However, in some cases stationary downdraft tables (if not adequately suitable or filtered) limit applications that can be performed on them due to the surrounding environment or space restraints. In these instances, a portable downdraft table is a better solution provided due to its mobility and efficiency.
In some circumstances, important considerations must be taken, including what types of chemicals will be handled, the quantity, and at what temperature. It is also important to note that this is not a wet application downdraft table and speaking with an application specialist is recommended to qualify if your process fits the capabilities of an industrial downdraft table.
