The VOC Sensor is a device utilized to detect gas concentrations near the surface of the filter outlet. During operation, the voc sensor continuously monitors the filter outlet and measures specific levels of acetone and various vapors. If the sensor detects concentrations above the specified level, the unit will alert the operator by either flashing a red light and/ or an audible alarm. For optimal performance, place the sensor within two inches of the filter exhaust
Our Acetone Sensor is specifically calibrated for “acetone-specific” applications, such as parts cleaning, wiping, dipping, soaking, epoxy work, and cleaning tanks. Calibration is based on current, published OSHA and NIOSH exposure limits (in PPM) for Acetone, as it is important to note that the Low Odor Threshold of Acetone usually occur around 20 PPM. Acetone is known to evaporate at room temperature; which means that the operator is likely to smell acetone odors well before the room reaches either NIOSH or OSHA exposure limit thresholds.
