The Sentry Air Systems Gas Sensor is a device utilized to detect gas concentrations near the surface of the filter outlet. During operation, the gas sensor continuously monitors the filter outlet and measures detected levels of vapor. If it detects concentrations above a certain level, the unit will alert the operator by either a flashing red LED and/or audible alarm. The device functions by measuring molecular concentrations on a sophisticated sensor. For optimal performance, place the sensor within two inches of the filter exhaust.
The Gas Sensor is calibrated based on current, published OSHA and NIOSH exposure limits (in PPM) for Acetone. Typical applications include: Parts cleaning, wiping, dipping, and soaking, epoxy work, and cleaning tanks.
Note: The Gas Sensor is calibrated for Acetone-specific applications. It is important to know that the Low Odor Threshold of Acetone usually occurs around 20 PPM. Acetone is known to evaporate at room temperature. This means that the operator is likely to smell acetone odors well before the room reaches either NIOSH or OSHA exposure limit thresholds. .
All specifications are nominal and subject to change without notice. Not intended for explosive or highly flammable applications. (i.e. when the Lower Flammability Limit is exceeded for any given chemical). Please consult the specific MSDS for questions regarding flammability limits.
